GPA is calculated by multiplying each course's grade points by its credit hours, summing those products, and dividing by total credit hours.
Formula: GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credit Hours) / Σ(Credit Hours)
Frequently Asked Questions
Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours to get quality points. Sum all quality points and divide by total credit hours. For example: A (4.0) × 3 credits = 12 quality points.
Generally: 3.5–4.0 is excellent (Dean's List territory), 3.0–3.49 is good, 2.0–2.99 is average, below 2.0 may be below the minimum academic standing requirement.
