Distance (km) = Steps × 0.00075

Based on an average stride length of 0.75 meters per step, so 1,000 steps ≈ 0.75 km.

Walking Duration

Duration (hours) = Distance (km) ÷ Speed (km/h)

Speed is derived from your selected pace: 3 km/h (Slow), 5 km/h (Moderate), 6.5 km/h (Fast), or 8 km/h (Jogging).

Calories Burned (MET formula)

Calories = MET × Weight (kg) × Duration (hours)

MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) reflects exercise intensity — 2.5 for a slow stroll up to 8.0 for jogging — multiplied by body weight and time spent walking.

Example — 10,000 steps, 70 kg, Moderate pace (MET 3.5)

Distance = 10,000 × 0.00075 = 7.5 km. At 5 km/h, duration = 7.5 ÷ 5 = 1.5 hours (90 minutes). Calories = 3.5 × 70 × 1.5 ≈ 368 calories.

Example — 5,000 steps, 60 kg, Slow pace (MET 2.5)

Distance = 5,000 × 0.00075 = 3.75 km. At 3 km/h, duration = 3.75 ÷ 3 = 1.25 hours (75 minutes). Calories = 2.5 × 60 × 1.25 ≈ 188 calories.
